The GrangeThe Grange is a small residential home regulated by The Care Quality Commission. We provide care and accommodation in
a stable, homely atmosphere for a maximum of three residents at a time. Whilst providing support, we encourage residents to determine their own future.

Our main aim is to help residents achieve independent or semi-independent living.

The Grange has vast experience of dealing with a comprehensive range of people with special needs, although at present we cannot accommodate anyone in a wheelchair.

The Grange has been established since 1984 and is owned and run by M. Kelly Brown with an experienced staff team.

In addition to residential care, The Grange provides support for young adults living in their own homes. Thus enabling young people to live semi-independent lives in the community.

The Grange can also accommodate young adults on a planned, non-emergency, respite basis.

Our Mission Statement

To provide temporary or long term accommodation in a stable homely atmosphere. To encourage residents’ to determine their own future, whilst providing support. Our main aim is to help residents to achieve eventual independent living.

Aims

  • To improve the quality of life for people who have a learning disability.
  • To encourage people with learning disabilities to develop to their full potential.
  • To provide appropriate support to people with learning disabilities to enable them to access educational and leisure services independently in their local community.

All people are born free and equal in dignity and rights. People with learning disabilities should have the same rights and opportunities to live their lives in the way they choose, as independently as possible with the support they need. Our main aim is to help residents to achieve eventual independent living.

A Care Plan is drawn up in consultation with the Client and their Social Worker. This is achieved by discussions between the three parties to identify needs, time-scales and desired outcomes. We ask the client to come to an evening meal at The Grange to meet other residents and stay overnight.
