The Federation of Local Supported Living Groups – A charity working in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, The Wirral and Merseyside. Parents and family members working in partnership with local professionals to enable people with learning disabilities to live independently.

Macclesfield Disability Information Bureau – Staffed by volunteers with first hand experience of disability, providing a free and confidential service on all aspects of disability to disabled people, carers, friends and professionals.

East Cheshire Advocacy – Support for people in making informed choices and decisions, ensuring their concerns are voiced.

CQC - Care Quality Commission – registers, inspects and reports on adult social care services in England, to improve social care and stamp out bad practice.

CareLaw – This is an information site for children and young people in care in England & Wales. It covers many topics from your rights in care to what happens when you leave care. It also explains how the law is different if you are ‘accommodated’, as opposed to being under a care order. The information is given in a question and answer format.

Cheshire Centre for Independent Living -  Cheshire Centre for Independent Living (CCIL), formerly Cheshire Disabilities Federation (CDF), has been providing support to disabled people since 1992 and promoting the philosophy of independent living, from within the framework of the Social Model of Disability.

National Centre for Independent Living – NCIL is a National support, advice and consultancy organisation that aims to enable disabled people to be equal citizens with choice, control, rights and full economic, social and cultural lives.

Values Into Action – Values Into Action (VIA) is an organisation of people with and without learning difficulties working together for rights, equality and citizenship for all people with learning difficulties.

NICE – The National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence is an independent organisation responsible for providing national guidance on promoting good health and preventing and treating ill health.

Mencap work with people with a learning disability to change laws and services, challenge prejudice and directly support thousands of people to live their lives as they choose.
